Dr. Don Colbert is one of the prominent people when it comes to diet based on bible. He is basically not only a nutritionist but a physician who have been in family practice for more than 20 years, since 1984. However, he approaches to cure different disease through complete healing of body; mind and spirit are a little bit different than his contemporary physician in the aspect of religion, as well as nutrition. He promotes healthy living through balance diet, exercise and belief in god.
He has written more than 30 books related to healthy life style, health, nutrition and religion. In his book "What Would Jesus Eat" he has describe about the diet and life style Jesus would have adapted if he was alive today. In his belief, Jesus might have eaten foods that are in natural state i.e. un- processed cereals and whole grains, more of fruits and vegetables and less of animal derived foods (meat). He also bans food which is mentioned as unclean in the Old Testament like pork, octopus, shrimps ect. This book is followed by a cook book with the same title which contains recopies according to the diet plan suggested in 'What Would Jesus Eat'.
In one of his best selling book 'Fasting Made Easy' he shares his beliefs that fasting is not only a form of sacrifice but rather it helps cleanse the body of toxins. This helps to boost immune system and rejuvenate organs as well as helps to melt away fats and make a person feel better. This in turn helps to bring not only physical but also spiritual cleansing to a person.
He has also written a series of books on The Bible Cure for different disease from allergies to weight loss.
